I’m Gabriel McIntosh, a full-time freelance illustrator focused on 2D digital imagery for product concepts, character and environment design and storyboard sequences. I bring ideas to life for clients through traditional drawing and digital painting. I have experience creating intermediate-level Aftereffects animation.
I’ve collaborated with creative teams across the US and UK for agencies like Ford Motors, Toyota, LinkedIn, Apple, MTV, NFL, BBDO, FX Network, Comedy Central, Digitas Health, Publicis, and Saatchi & Saatchi to name a few. I prepare artwork for Animatics and pre-production testing.
My work includes, among many roles across many artistic fields, environment and vehicle design, graphic design, character design, comics, and copy writing, with a strong emphasis on clear storytelling and on-time delivery. My colleagues know me for my comprehension, fast work rate and patience for changes in direction and priority.

I was asked to create and wear a Godzilla costume for a comic book convention, and here is the result. It was made for about $700 in materials, consisting of a mechanics coverall with upholstery foam sculpted and painted by me.
I developed a series of 18 characters and accompanying cars for this vibrant, dynamic and ambitious trading card campaign. In addition to the card art, I designed and printed 8’ x 6’ backdrop prints, branded table runners, keychains, stickers, labels, figures and comic book covers.
In addition, I began a social media campaign featuring animated promos complete with music and special effects.
I worked on site at Saatchi & Saatchi for the debut of “Jan”, starring actress Laurel Coppock, who was actively auditioning in the building at that time. I created storyboard art for animatics which eventually aired and became a hit with the car-buying public. I have samples of my work for this upon request, below is the finished film.

I was hired by an agency to develop the cover art and assets for “Roller Coaster Tycoon” for the Nintendo 3DS. Over the course of 3 days I collaborated with agency creatives to reach a final ready-for-print clam shell case cover art.
Sun Drop is a soft drink founded around 2010 that I had the pleasure of developing characters for. The iconic female character donning a red headband and green Sun Drop t-shirt started as a pencil sketch and ended as a fully fleshed-out 2D animatic, leading to a successful campaign that would eventually be cast, filmed and released to air in 2011.
