I am an experienced freelance illustrator who has also worked for over a decade as Teacher of Art&Design (Secondary school). After my Diploma (BA) in Painting I began to be interested in children’s book illustration, looking for a connection between painting and narrative. This led me to study the various aspects of illustration and to experiment with the use of different techniques. In 1999 I decided to further my studies in the field of art with a postgraduate course that increased my technical skills and my professional opportunities. I chose to study in the United Kingdom because of its world renowned book illustration tradition, and I gained a place in the MA in Art (with the Book Illustration area as the main subject) at the UWA, University of Wales, Aberystwyth, which I finished in September 2000 with the final mark of Distinction. This Masters enabled me to develop a thorough competence in illustrated book work from an inter- and multidisciplinary approach that has been essential in my career as a professional book illustrator. Since 1998 I have been collaborating with various publishing houses throughout Europe, with more than 30 titles published in children’s and youth literature. (_Website not available.
