I fell in love with animation at a very young age, drawing characters and stories from imagination even before I could properly write. As I grew older, that passion expanded into cosplay, architecture sketching, and understanding how animation uses color, movement, and storytelling to bring worlds to life. Today, I am a Film and Animation student at Multimedia University of Kenya, and my journey has been both challenging and rewarding. Throughout my three years of study, I have mostly relied on school computers and equipment, as I have not had consistent access to a personal desktop setup. Despite this, I pushed myself to fully explore the world of animation and artistic storytelling. I constantly challenge myself creatively by experimenting with different animation concepts, styles, and technical workflows. One of my biggest projects involved creating and rigging a humanoid leopard character, which introduced me to human rigging, quadruped rigging, insect rigging, and even stylized animation techniques. This semester also gave me the opportunity to explore painting, charcoal art, acrylics, and watercolor work, which greatly improved my understanding of lighting, color theory, and visual storytelling in animation. Although I am still learning, every experience continues to shape my artistic vision and strengthen my passion for the industry. I am therefore writing to apply for an attachment or internship opportunity in your company beginning on 15th June this month. I understand this application may be late, but I strongly believe in trying and taking opportunities whenever possible. My interest lies in learning more about the professional animation industry, particularly in character creation, environment design, gaming animation, comic layouts, and storytelling production pipelines. I am also eager to improve my workflow and speed using software such as Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Animate, Blender, Maya, Houdini, and Unreal Engine. Additionally, I am interested in exploring how AI tools can support creative workflows and make production more efficient.
