I’m a filmmaker from Uruguay based in Spain. Shooting a film at 20, traveling the world, having a band and touring with it, and—in parallel—continuing to create short films, series, and feature films are some of the things I’ve done, I’m doing, and will always do. I graduated in 2011 from the Uruguayan Film School as an audiovisual director and my graduation thesis: the 16mm short film The Needle Of The Butterfly was awarded Best Foreign Short Film at the 2012 Kinoki Festival (Mexico). My first feature film, Portrait of an Animal Behavior was selected at Primer Corte Ventana Sur 2013 (Argentina), had its world premiere at the World Cinema Amsterdam festival in 2014 (Holland) and participated in the International Festival of Cinema in Mar del Plata in 2014 (Argentina) as well as in various festivals around the world. Since 2011 I have been producing and directing short films, series and feature films with my production company: Calamari Films. In 2019 I premiered the web series Las Paquitas del humor, winner of the MVD FILMA 2014 fund (Uruguay), chosen as best series at the New Detour Film Festival 2018 (Uruguay) and officially selected at the 2019 Realist Web Fest (Russia). In 2022 I was selected as one of the 20 winners to participate in the HACK MAFIZ of the 24th Malaga Film Festival. I am currently writing and developing my second feature film Anomia 90’, winner of the 2014 ICAU Fund for Project Development (Uruguay) and officially selected in PUENTES EAVE 2015 Workshops (Montevideo, Uruguay) and in the Screenwriting residency “Algo en común” 2017 (Cali, Colombia); as well as participating in the Islabentura 2024 (Canary Islands, Spain) script laboratory with my series “Aqui Cabemos Todos”.…I’m a filmmaker from Uruguay based in Spain.
