I’m Gustavo Vasco, a film editor specializing in documentary and fiction. My work has been screened at festivals such as Belfort, Locarno, Venice, San Sebastián, Berlinale, IDFA, Hot Docs, and BAFICI. I co-edited Los Reyes del Mundo, which won the Golden Shell at the San Sebastián Film Festival, and Alis, which won the Teddy Award and the Crystal Bear at Berlinale 2022. I have been honored with Macondo Awards for Best Editing on three occasions. I’ve taught at Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Universidad Central in Bogotá, and EICTV in Cuba, and I’ve served as a panelist for the Sundance Institute Documentary Fund, and led the Rough Cut Lab and the documentary editing seminar at DocMontevideo.
I have edited a wide range of projects across feature films, series, and documentaries, collaborating with producers and directors worldwide. My ongoing and upcoming work continues to explore storytelling across cultures and formats, with a consistent focus on craft, rhythm, and emotional truth in post-production.
