Research-driven visual design. Clear, beautiful communication. I am a pro-active, creative, and enthusiastic graphic designer with 16 years of experience producing highly engaging information design, branding, exhibition design, illustration and motion graphics for clients across sectors and contexts. Coupled with 7 years experience, as an academic Design Researcher, I specialise in communicating research and using co-design facilitation methodologies wherever projects call for it, distilling complex information into compelling, easy to understand visual narratives tailor-made for their audiences. Taking a highly collaborative, adaptable and fast-learning approach, I have a passion for working together with clients and teams to develop impactful and innovative solutions and bringing their insights to life through print, digital and motion graphics in a range of contexts at pace and in demanding environments. Teams I work in have often included academics and researchers, developers, service and user centred designers, user researchers, consultants, trainers and facilitators. Most recently, I produced motion graphics with a team of service designers, developers, consultants and user researchers at His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) on 2 major projects encompassing internal research and disruptive pitches for decision-makers to inform new digital strategies. This work also required me to quickly learn and adopt cutting edge AI tools as part of the asset creation for the motion graphics. These motion graphics for research and pitches were amongst the first of their kind for HMRC. Going forward, I am particularly interested in opportunities where I can contribute to design, consulting and research teams across different contexts in public and private sectors, from arts and heritage, to health, to fintech. As a distinctly self-motivated freelancer based in Accrington, Lancashire (UK), I am best suited to remote roles with occasional travel to site as required. I have a full drivers license. I pride myself on my communication skills and professionalism and to support this work, I am well versed in using online communication and collaborative tools.
