Bryan Herbert is a Singapore-based musician, composer, and performer currently in Year 3 of the BA (Hons) in Music at LASALLE College of the Arts (University of the Arts Singapore). Trained classically as a violinist, Bryan’s practice spans composition, arrangement, and contemporary electronic music production, alongside performance on violin, guitar, oud, vocals, and DJ platforms. He has performed with ensembles including Orkestra Melayu Singapura (First Violinist), the Singapore National Youth Orchestra, and the Singapore Police Force Band, where he served as a violinist and concert/parade percussionist during National Service. His work bridges classical, Malay, and experimental electronic traditions, reflecting a strong interest in cross-cultural and genre-hybrid practices. Bryan has contributed original works and performances for major platforms such as the Annual MENDAKI Awards Ceremony, Singapore Symphony Orchestra’s National Day feature, and the PhilWinds 25th Anniversary Gala Concert (featured oud soloist). He is also involved in arts production and performance at the CHOPPA Experimental Electronic Music Festival. A recipient of the ANUGERAH MENDAKI Award, Bryan is proficient in English, Chinese, and Malay/Bahasa Indonesia, and remains actively engaged in performance, composition, and community-based arts initiatives.
