Born in Locarno in 1988, Giacomo Tanzarella has pursued music with unwavering dedication since childhood. In 2016, he earned a bachelor's degree in Musicology from the University of Pavia. After time spent in Madrid, he moved to London, where he obtained a Master’s in Audio Productions from Westminster University in 2018. Returning to Switzerland, Giacomo founded Smile Productions in 2019, producing two short films (#everythingwillbefine and 21). His career took a vibrant turn in 2023, when he joined the Locarno Film Festival as Artistic Coordinator of the Rotonda by la Mobiliare, curating lineups including Guè, Gabry Ponte, The Original Blues Brothers Band, Eiffel 65, Umberto Tozzi, Marco Masini, and many more. In 2023, he also led the artistic direction of the first edition of Winterland in Locarno. By 2025, his vision evolved into Hypnos Corps. He continues to work at the intersection of music, events, and production—never losing touch with the joy of playing music himself.
