Identify and recommend electrical power sources for proper circuit isolation and safety, as well as make independent determinations on the best power point of service for new connections. Inspect construction work on site to ensure work is done in accordance with established contracts. Leverage system walk downs and site visits to determine job scope of work and material & labor needed to estimate and support project costs. Visit facilities and prepare reports indicating condition and necessary corrective actions. Inspect buildings to determine the need for repairs and preventive maintenance. Prepare field inspection reports for stakeholders, including senior leaders, to communicate the condition of the facility inspected and repair recommendations. TRACK, MAINTAIN, AND ANALYZE DATA: Perform electrical job planning that includes identifying correct procedure use, ensuring safe standards are adhered to, and identifying job resources (i.e. material, labor, etc.). Research and design solutions for construction issues to establish alternative proposals for designer consideration, making sure solutions meet the requirements of (Unified Facilities Criteria) UFCs (3-501, 520, 550, & 560). Coordinate projects with contractors to ensure product and construction quality. Serve as liaison to the contractor during all stages of the construction project and facilitate a collaborative atmosphere with contractors, engineers, and facilities specialist to promote cooperation throughout the project. ORAL AND WRITTEN COMMUNICATION: Develop and prepare engineering drawings consisting of details, schematics, cabling diagrams, arrangements, and functional diagrams. Provide technical direction and guidance to lower grade engineers and technicians. Review contractor submitted plans and other documentation to assure compliance with specifications. Perform basic maintenance and repair as needed on all buildings and utility structures.
