Hi, I’m Iyunoluwanimi Yemi-Shodimu, the artist behind LINTD. For the past seven years I’ve been building a solo practice and collaborating under the aliases LINTD, GOMID, SMOOCH SOUNDSYSTEM and FEED. Through music, film, live events and installation I create visceral, emotive black speculative art—worlds that do not yet exist to expand the scope of possibility for people of colour worldwide. My work seeks freedom and agency within a global structure that profits from marginalising my humanity.
I’m inspired by artists at the forefront of creative audiovisual expression—Klein, Mica Levi, Steve McQueen and Barry Jenkins—and have connected with relentless innovators across the UK’s experimental scene. I’ve collaborated with Space Afrika, Jasmin Kent Rodgman, Rakhi Singh and Balraj Samrai, and created work for Manchester Collective, Complicité and Opera North. Last year I was commissioned for projects with Bradford City of Culture’s New Music Biennale, and I debuted the self-directed multimedia piece Concrete at the Southbank Centre. I’ve also developed the 11-film, two-album project the black impossible with support from Arts Council England, Manchester Independents, Complicité, Opera North and The White Hotel’s Head II label. Upcoming work Funeral Rites On Planet Saturn, a sophomore album premiering 2026-02-13, will be accompanied by a short film on Return To Zero. My practice remains anchored in black experience and the belief that art can celebrate black joy, grief and resilience.
