I am Juan Manuel Uscátegui, a saxophonist-composer-arranger from Bogotá, Colombia, defined by my diligence and devotion to the arts. I began my musical journey at a very young age, counting the piano at age 4 and starting saxophone studies at 13, which sparked a lifelong passion.
I have studied with renowned jazz educators such as Ricardo Narváez, Julian Castillo, Adalberto Gaviria, and Emanuel Peralta. My work blends jazz fusion with pop, disco, funk, rock and R&B, while I have composed soundtracks and scores for video games like Grasscutter, and perform with ensembles such as the Latin American Jazz Ensemble “Mirla” at Sergio Arboleda University. I strive for a warm, familiar sound that resonates with listeners.
