Hi, I’m James Hampson, a Western Sydney University graduate with a Bachelor of Screen Media (Arts and Production). I have a hands-on background in film production, graphic design, and content creation, including a three-month internship as a video editor where I edited content for Liv Free Educational Platform and social media promotion. I enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver engaging visual stories and build strong portfolios.
I’m passionate about evolving my craft through AI-assisted workflows, experiments with new technologies, and continuous skill development in tools like DaVinci Resolve, Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and Photoshop. I love tackling creative challenges in film, animation, motion graphics, VR experiences, apps, games, and illustrations, and I’m eager to contribute energy, discipline, and collaboration to new projects.

A young man who struggles with the fact of losing his father, comes to terms with what is real and who is really there to support him.
This project was the culmination of my final year at university. For this short film I worked as the Head Editor and First AD, these were roles that I was comfortable in taking responsibility in due to experience gained from past projects. In production I was tasked with keep everyone organised, assisting in the directors needs, ensuring that everything is conducted safely and making sure that we stay on schedule. In Post Production we went through 11 different cuts of the film and were constantly improving the final product in every rendition.
My Life is the best piece of work that I’ve made so far in my career and I hope to keep continuing the steady progression that I’ve been on since working on Mother Bird. In the end we were really proud of what we made and are excited to share it with everyone else!
