I’m a professional programmer with 10+ years of experience using C# as a Unity generalist, covering many teams, multiple shipped platforms, and solving difficult problems in optimization, tooling, networking, and UI.
In my spare time I also work on new projects to keep my knowledge flowing, such as releasing a personal game on Steam and assets on the Unity Asset Store. I’m always keen to learn new engines, languages, and platforms. Based in Wellington, New Zealand, I can work remotely but am open to relocating if required. I was hired as a Senior Unity Developer to assist the other programmers by resolving some difficult to solve problems and mentor them in best practices. I was also hired to help the other departments by improving the pipelines from data to in-game by creating new tools and optimizing the existing ones so they are able to iterate much faster.
Realtime multiplayer golf game that was ported from Snap chat games to android/ios (which i also worked on).
This projects difficulties came from working with the rollback network layer and using photons relay server. Great learned opportunities as the project was a success that we delivered in a short time frame and were able to add in customization that we weren’t able to get into the original game.
While working at PikPok I also worked on my own free horror game with some colleagues to get the experience of creating and releasing the game on steam. It took 2 years and I learned a lot in this time and managed to make it happen.
