I grew up in Rancho Cucamonga, California, where I was raised on Steven Spielberg and Billy Wilder films and developed a deep respect for history that sparked my love of storytelling. I started writing at fourteen, teaching myself the craft and earning a degree from The Los Angeles Film School.
Since then I’ve channeled that passion into feature screenplays and teleplays that have been submitted to competitions including NBC TV Writers Program and the ISA Diversity Initiative, while continuing to work as a freelance script consultant and screenwriter.

Santiago is a non-believing son and assistant to Manuel the Magnificent, a once-famous Barcelonian stage magician. When Manuel disappears within his own illusion, it’s up to Santiago to enter the one dreaded place he may have gone – the mythic, chaotic landscape of The Magician’s World.
Gleeful stage magician and toast of early 20th century Barcelona MANUEL THE MAGNIFICENT performs his famed “Disappearing Man” act before a breathless crowd. In the wings, his son SANTIAGO and wife PALOMA look on with wonder.
When not performing sold-out shows, Manuel teaches Santiago the tricks of the trade, recalls bedtime stories of a mysterious “Magician’s World” and accompanies him to secret society meetings for Magician’s.
There, Santiago ingratiates himself along such wise luminaries as ARMANDO and his indifferent, snarky niece MARIA.
As the years pass, and new scientific breakthroughs are discovered, the lure of magic begins to wane on the masses. Now a teenager, Santiago’s sacred belief in his father’s magic is put to a traumatic test when —
Paloma mysteriously dies, leaving a bereaved father and son.
Manuel mourns by fiercely holding onto his belief that magic is real, disappearing for days at a time, while the jaded teenage Santiago grows distant from the ideology, and pursues his own path toward science.
All the while, a sinister presence by the name of BELTRAN has been observed their falling out…and making his plans. Upon a chance encounter, Beltran seduces Santiago into stealing his father’s notebook – a hallowed tome that would reveal his most cherished magical secrets.
Intent on sabotaging Manuel’s crumbling career, Santiago acts out his plan before a show – but Manuel has been onto his scheme. Father and son have a bitter argument, where old wounds are opened and final words are exchanged.
Disheartened, Manuel goes on stage to perform, while a bitter, fleeing Santiago senses something amiss and returns to the theater. At the last moment, before a reconciliation can be initiated —
Manuel vanishes inside The Disappearing Man.
Guilt-ridden, Santiago finds proof of Beltran’s presence and pursues the assailant. His search for Manuel’s whereabouts lead to a dead-end. Dubious but low on options, Santiago turns to the society and ultimately the help of Armando, who speculates that—
Manuel is trapped inside “the Magician’s World”, a mythic, surreal landscape.
With time running out, Santiago must cast aside all doubt if he is to rescue his father within the chaotic realm…and confront the threat of a blood-thirsty beast…a talking rabbit…or the lingering shadow of a dark evil.
- Young MADELINE EVANS creeps through the dense wood, adjacent to her aunt and uncle’s Inn, The O’Brien. She has overheard morbid cries in a clearing, but finds only a rusted knife amongst the dead leaves.
LOGLINE
In 1942, a melancholic teen pianist, haunted by her family’s malicious past, escapes to her estranged Aunt and Uncle’s secluded inn. Upon arrival, a sinister presence begins to plague her every move.
She returns to the Inn, once a stopover in the 1880s through the Sierra Nevada mountains on the way to San Francisco. The glory days have since been replaced by time and decay. Despite the pleas to her haughty, aristocratic mother MARY and classical pianist STEPHEN that something is out there, she is ignored. AUNT GENA and UNCLE SAMUEL are no less receptive.
As a family photo is captured, Samuel witnesses a misty apparition appear from the wood and fixate on young Madeline. Distraught, Samuel understands what that entails…
Several years later, the world is at war, and 17-year-old Madeline frantically packs her belongings in her upscale San Francisco home. Something is troubling her. After her visit all those years ago, she is returning to The O’Brien for an extended stay.
Under the cover of night, Mary and Stephen whisk Madeline to The O’Brien, where they are warmly greeted by a hermetic Gena and Samuel. Upon their arrival, Madeline grasps a young woman in an upstairs window.
While Samuel proudly shows off the place, we learn that Gena toils away at the small hospital in town as a nurse, while Samuel has poured his love and care into maintaining the grandeur of the Inn.
Apprehensive, Madeline explores the corridor, finds empty rooms and a single locked door. Inside, she hears a piano playing and footsteps. Her doubts continue to mount –
Are they truly alone here?
To avoid scandal to the family name, Mary and Stephen have procured Gena’s expertise as she also moonlights in assisting the elderly DR. FIELDS to perform late-night, illegal abortions for troubled girls.
That first night, Madeline reminisces about her final meeting with her impoverished beau NORMAN before he was to be shipped off to war. They share a passionate night, and only then do we learn –
Madeline is pregnant.
A presence leads Madeline to the clearing in the woods, where disembodied voices taunt her into –
Stabbing her pregnant stomach with the forgotten knife.
While the vision proves to be a lucid dream, Madeline, at first unmoved by the decision to abort her own child, begins to reconcile with her morality and the measures a parent will go to protect their child.
As the supernatural events plague her, her obsession draws to the mysteriously-locked door, witness’s apparitions, visions of the Inn’s early years, and the malevolent specter that haunts its corridors.
