Heya!! My name is Jany Salinas and I am an animator, character designer and illustrator! I'm a graduate of Kennesaw State University where I earned a B.A. in Digital Animation. Traditional animation is my forte- if I can spend the rest of my life animating film and cartoons by hand, I would be happy. I had the privilege of being co-director, lead character designer and animator on the short film Where the Lotus Blooms- a senior project that won first place at KSUs 2023 Film Festival! While earning my degree I also gained experience working a variety of freelance projects where I headed animated shorts, designed and illustrated assets for animation, and contributed to highly organized pipelines. I've worked for Zach Sherwin's Crossword Show, Sam Hansen's Relatively Prime, The Science Gallery of Atlanta and am currently illustrating a children's book titled Dream Aweigh! I LOVE being a part of creative teams whether in-studio or remotely. Toon Boom Harmony, Adobe Creative Cloud and Clip Studio Paint are my weapons of choice and I am beyond passionate about hand-drawn art. Portfolio: _Website not available. paper Where the Lotus Blooms

Where the Lotus Blooms is Where the Lotus Blooms is a short film created in collaboration with Romain de Fromont and Dani Bejarano.

This film involved my taking on a co-director role, where I learned to be a decisive and reliable artistic lead. On top of animating half of the shots, I also created extensive character reference sheets for the team, managed additional crew, and carried out style corrections. It was imperative to maintain effective communication to reach our lofty goals in such a short amount of time. Our efforts resulted in great success, as our film won first place at the KSU Owls Film Festival.
