Filmmaker Jason Baffa is known by movie-lovers and creatives for work that brings to life soulful visual explorations through unique characters and a cinematic esthetic. Noted for films in the surf lifestyle genre, his powerful imagery and emphasis on emotional stories has built a niche in independent film garnering worldwide praise.
His 2018 feature documentary, “LOOPERS: The Caddie’s Long Walk” narrated by Bill Murray, is the first ever look at the somewhat secret profession of the golf caddie. Winner Best Doc at the Newport Beach and Cleveland Int’l Film Fests, now airing on The Golf Channel.
He is Executive Producer and Director with Station10 and Boardwalk Pictures (Chef’s Table, Last Chance U, CNN’s Decades series) on an eight part series for Disney+ about surfing called “Chasing Waves”.
His new project CONFLUENCE LIVE merges live music by the band @Sea_Poodle with high definition cinematography, immersing audiences into an audio/visual theatre experience (touring now).
In the commercial world, collaborators find that his eye for soulful lifestyle imagery goes beyond the waves, capturing visuals, stories and digital platform work for top brands like BMW, Ford, Kashi, Toyota, Patagonia Clothing.
Baffa is currently developing a slate of scripted narrative and documentary projects.
