Javier Dampierre is an editor, director and screenwriter for film and television. He is the winner of the prestigious XVII SGAE Julio Alejandro Screenwriting Award for his animated feature film The Secret of the Magi. The project is currently in development and financing stages with Arcadia Motion Pictures (Robot Dreams, The Beasts). He also sold his feature screenplay The Silence of Marcos Tremmer, available on Amazon Prime, featuring renowned actors such as Benjamín Vicuña, Adriana Ugarte, and Félix Gómez.
Dampierre has excelled in short filmmaking with works like 7 Days, award-winner at international festivals; his critically acclaimed dark comedy Crocodile Nile (El cocodrilo Nilo), which garnered over 80 official selections worldwide and was an official candidate for the Spanish Academy Awards; the documentary The Dance of the Infants, honored at the Oscar-qualifying Rhode Island International Film Festival; and the psychological thriller Fifty, which won 20 international awards, starring Sasha Golberg and Dey Young (Pretty Woman, Star Trek: The Next Generation, CSI, This Is Us).
In television, he directed the feature-length documentary The Impossible of the Impossible, which explored the making of J.A. Bayona’s The Impossible, starring Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts. The documentary achieved a remarkable 39.2% audience share on Telecinco, one of the biggest TV channels in Spain.
During his four years in Los Angeles, Dampierre worked as an editor for trailers, films, and documentaries on platforms such as NBC, FOX, Amazon, ESPN, and Netflix. His credits include The People’s Fighters, produced by Mandalay Sports Media and Frank Marshall; the feature film Prescience, starring Linda Gray and Eric Roberts, distributed by Indican Pictures and Lionsgate; and the documentary series 40 Days: Canelo vs. Kovalev (Honorable Mention for Best Editing at the Webby Awards) for DAZN and NBC, as well as The Harder Way for ESPN, both produced by Uninterrupted and LeBron James.
Upon returning to Spain, he completed a master’s program in “The Creation and Production of Fiction Series: The Showrunner” at the EFTI school. Among other productions, he has been lead editor at the documentary series Raphaelismo for Movistar+, Real Madrid: Until the End for Apple TV+, the series El Camino for Movistar+, The 43 of Ayotzinapa: A State Crime for HBO Max, the true-crime Maje for Netflix and Atresmedia, the documentary series “La última llamada” for Movistar +, or the doc series “Los asesinos de Colosio”, and HBO original to be premiered soon.
