Javier is a creator and filmmaker with 17 years of experience in the industry. I studied the Bachelor of Arts in Film at Columbia College Chicago, graduated with Honors in 2007.
At the age of 27, I premiered my first feature film, Elvira, at the Morelia International Film Festival. One of Mexico’s most important film festivals.
Elvira was one of the most recognized and applauded films of that edition. That same year at Morelia, Quentin Tarantino screened his film, “Inglorious Basterds”.
The documentary was in competition and in special screenings at other film festivals in Mexico, New York City, Los Angeles, Nantes, Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Chicago, New Delhi and Madrid. I’ve done several short films and documentaries.
In 2023, i worked at a production company called Gato Grande as Executive Director of Development, supervising, developing and producing a variety of projects for scripted and unscripted television, as well as wide assortment of film projects. The company is currently owned by Amazon Studios.
Next year, I will be releasing his first narrative feature film, titled Adentro, which was an Official Selection at the IFFI 2023 International Film Festival of India, Goa. One of the most competitive Class A festivals in the world. It will have its North American premiere at the Culver City Film Festival this coming December.
I have also created, developed and directed several videos in various formats such as: commercials, corporate, cultural, non profit and educational.
