Juan Jose Davila is a Venezuelan artist and animator with a deep passion for storytelling, rooted in a lifelong journey through the traditional arts. Born in the small city of Mérida—known as la ciudad de los caballeros (the city of gentlemen) for its warmth and sense of community—Juan brings that same spirit of kindness, connection, and joy into every piece he creates. From an early age, he explored clay sculpting, music, figure drawing, and painting, eventually honing his skills in animation at the University of Central Florida. His work—whether in storyboards, comics, or live caricatures—often centers on themes of self-discovery and the uplifting power of community. His whimsical, cartoony style is both approachable and emotionally resonant, always aiming to spark creativity and bring people together. Juan also contributes his talents to meaningful causes, including volunteering on the intro animation for the Adventure Ted Chats podcast, part of the Childhood Cancer Society. Through this project, he helped bring joy to children facing cancer, supporting the organization’s work alongside Make-A-Wish and leading research hospitals to provide more uplifting and stress-free treatment experiences. Whether on the page, the screen, or at a local market, Juan’s art celebrates storytelling as a tool for connection—and a reminder that sharing joy can help us rise higher than we ever thought possible.
