Jocelyn Woolgar-Jones is a Wirral based artist creating emotionally charged and stylised illustrations. Her preferred subjects are feminine but she is adept at most forms. Jocelyn’s work currently focuses on socio-economic and personal matters, specifically relating to sexuality and identity.
Jocelyn started her artistic journey in 2011, dissatisfied with the lack of direction in her life she decided she wanted to study art at university. She took a night course to gain access to a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design which then gave her access to study Fine Art at the University of Chester. After graduating from Chester with a 2:1 in 2016 employment opportunities were limited so she instead took office work and did art in her spare time. In March of 2020, fresh out of a relationship, living back with family and with the pandemic in full swing she decided she wanted to go back to University to study a Masters degree in Illustration. This decision was made because creating art is what brings her the most joy and she wanted it to be her sole career focus. She graduated from the University of Huddersfield in 2021 with a Distinction (1st) in Illustration. She is currently looking for representation and opportunities in Publishing and Editorial.
