I'm Joe Caploe, a musician, producer, and educator with forty years of experience performing, producing, recording, and teaching across classical, jazz, musical theatre, Latin, and world music styles. I have been teaching full-time at the university level for 24 years, sharing private lessons and guiding students while continuing to perform and create. I also served as a California Arts Council Artist in Residence in the San Jose Unified School District in the Bay Area and at San Jose State University, where I expanded arts education and community engagement. As a leader and collaborator, I have released albums as a leader—Hearsay, Caploe Brothers, Between the Lines, Tenerife Blue, The Music of Joe Caploe Sampler, Neck N Neck, All In, and The Shed with Mark Little—and I have performed at major festivals including the Monterey Jazz Festival, Concord Jazz Festival, America Festival, Festival de Théâtre in Montreal, and Jerusalem with the Music Theatre Group of New York, as well as the Iowa City Jazz Festival, Jazz Alive, and the San Jose Jazz Festival. I also served as Wisconsin PAS Chapter President and hosted the 2007 WI PAS Days of Percussion. These experiences reflect my commitment to versatile artistry and education.
