Hi, I’m Joel Martinez, a Venezuelan-born musician, composer, arranger and recording artist. I grew up under the El Sistema program, performed with some of my country’s leading youth ensembles, and later joined the Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra and the Venezuela Brass Ensemble. Today I tour with ensembles around the world and work on my own projects. I live in Miami, and I teach master classes and workshops in different countries, sharing what I’ve learned with the next generation of players. In 2016 I released my debut album Mirando de Lejos and continue to work as a studio recording artist and arranger. I’m currently a member of the Rawayana band and collaborate with instrument makers Buffet Crampon and Antoine Courtois. I also perform with the Miami Symphony Orchestra and the South Florida Symphony Orchestra while pursuing ongoing education through clinics and masterclasses.
