Illustration and character design of a harpy, creatures that are half-woman, half-bird. Illustrating different fantasy creatures allows me to put pride in myself as a fantasy illustrator.

About
Hi, I’m Joey Athens! I’m a passionate illustrator and author currently completing my BFA in Illustration at Moore College of Art and Design. I specialize in character, fantasy, and story illustration, focusing on concept, composition, and detail. I love diving into multimedia projects ranging from book cover art to indie game design, and I’m excited to collaborate with other creatives.
When I’m not illustrating, I’m often writing — currently, I’m working on a novel linked to my graduate thesis, “Angel Anatomization.” I bring a strong mix of creativity and determination to every project, and I’m always eager to learn and grow in the creative arts community.
