I’m Josh Ruddiforth, an enthusiastic and motivated undergraduate student with an interest in pursuing a career in Film and TV. I’m a quick learner with a commitment to creating and editing films, and I can use different kinds of editing programs and equipment. I’m currently studying HND Creative Practice at The Sheffield College, specializing in Film and TV, and I’m looking to pursue video editing further than I already do. I love making my own YouTube videos and publishing them online.
I’ve worked on real film sets, including a shoot with third-year students from Sheffield Hallam University where my role was a runner. I brewed coffee and tea for cast and crew on long shoots, helped the crew set up equipment, and prepared the set/house for the next shot. This experience gave me insight into on-set decisions and how teams stay on schedule, and it showed me what I can bring to future projects. I’ve also edited content for a band in my own time, which was a lot of fun and helped me apply my editing skills in a real-world context, including assisting with interviews for a promotional video.

To help showcase my talents as a videographer and editor, I made a showreel of my projects and update this when I have completed a new project. This includes freelance work and projects for my BA Creative Practice course, and features my best work and what I am proud of producing with others and by myself.
This short film is about a young, vulnerable woman who is going through her day, and she uses social media a lot, which eventually leads to addiction, lack of sleep, and sleep deprivation, and how it affects her, including the repetition of her waking up, making breakfast, and using her phone all the time.
