Hi, I’m Joshua Raymond Rielo, Growing up in Tampa as a first-generation child to Cuban immigrant parents has shaped my artistic pursuits. At 5 years old, I found myself consistently drawing and creating, and as I progressed into middle school, my interests expanded into video creation, writing, but most importantly, editing and directing. I honed my skills at home, self-learning on my family PC since 6th grade, making animatics for almost any school project. But, High school marked a pivotal moment as I broadened my knowledge and began producing short films and comedic videos. I earned awards such as the Silver Key for the Scholastic Award for Art and Writing, along with securing podium spots in FSPA Districts. I later achieved certification in Adobe Premiere Pro from 2019 to 2021 further solidifying my foundation of editing and understanding the software as a whole. I seized opportunities to gain practical experience by filming for Jobsite Theater using a Canon MKII C200 camera rig and filming my first advertisement with a local shop. I then got accepted into Ringling College of Art and Design, where I made 4 short films and seven short film screenplays over the course of the four-year film program. During this program, I’ve taken on various pre and post-production roles such as director, producer, cinematographer, 1st & 2nd AC, production designer, assistant director, gaffer, grip, storyboard artist, sound designer, and my special sauce video editing. Through my unrelenting dedication to my craft and profound storytelling abilities, I am hopeful to make an impact on the world of film.
