Julian Busquets Moura is an award winning documentary film director based in São Paulo, Brazil. Born in Washington DC to a Puerto Rican mother and Brazilian father, his heritage has deeply shaped his ability to forge connections to far reaching and diverse stories throughout Latin America. Having spent more than 100 days embedded with various indigenous communities throughout the Amazon, Julian brings an intimate and unique perspective to his storytelling. Many times working in small and nimble teams, he creates environments where characters can share their vulnerabilities and ensure their voices are heard with integrity and care. He currently runs his production company, Veedro Films, where he creates short films for clients such as ABC Studios, The Rockefeller Foundation, UNHCR and The Reuters Foundation. He is currently in a festival run for “My Grandparents Hunted Here”, a short film that follows the courageous journey of indigenous forest defenders who have traded their bows and arrows for cameras and drones to expose environmental crimes.
