    AD CAMPAIGN

    ABOUT THE PROJECT
BARNES & NOBLE ADULT LITERACY AD CAMPAIGN

The goal of this project was to design a campaign for a new adult literacy group funded by Barnes & Noble. The completed piece is an illustrative image, (a composite image that speaks directly to our concept) communicating the benefits of reading.

The overall theme of the piece is “Literature Brings Imagination to Life.” The image aims to clearly demonstrate how reading and literature in general offer us not only imagined adventures but different perceptions of the world. Using Photoshop, it was my task to create an image that demonstrates this concept.

Ultimately, my task was to get more people reading by revealing the possibilities generated by literature.

A GRAPHIC DESIGN CAMPAIGN CONCEPT FOR ADULT LITERACY AWARENESS, USING PRINT ADVERTISING, MESSAGING STRATEGY, AND VISUAL COMMUNICATION TO CONNECT A NATIONAL BRAND WITH A MEANINGFUL COMMUNITY ISSUE.

    PRODUCT DESIGN CASE STUDY

    ABOUT THE PROJECT
AWAKEN ART APP - CASE STUDY

    ART BEYOND WHAT YOU SEE
View the full Case Study PDF: AWAKEN Art App by Julie Davis - Full Case Study
The AWAKEN Art app bridges the traditional art exhibit with an interactive experience using augmented realty (AR) awakening the viewer to new perspectives of the artwork, engaging thought conversation using a central narrative, and creating an awareness of the viewer’s role as an agent of change using cause and effect choice points.

    THE PROBLEM
There has been a decline in art museum and galleray engagement by traditional art goes and an over all lack of engagement in art museum/gallery engagement by younger audiences. Given the many benefits of engagement in the arts for education, health, and wider welfare it is important to re-engage society’s participation in the arts across all age groups to reverse the decline in arts participation.
“What they want from museums are interactive, immersive, and participatory activities.”
    — Center for the Future of Museums Focus Groups: The Call for Immersive, Participatory Experiences

    THE SOLUTION & OPPORTUNITY
Enhance the traditional art exhibit with active user engagement
Create an awareness of the viewer’s role as an agent of change
The project’s main goal is to engage the public in art through an enhanced art experience. Enhance traditional art exhibit with active user engagement.

    BRAND IDENTITY SYSTEM

    ABOUT THE PROJECT
JULZ DESIGN STUDIO - BRAND IDENTITY

I developed a comprehensive brand identity for Julz Design Studio, a creative agency dedicated to innovative, purposeful design. From concept to completion, this project established a cohesive and strategic visual system that reflects the studio’s core values of creativity, clarity, and connection.

The process began with defining brand pillars and a brand mantra to anchor the identity’s tone and purpose. From there, I crafted a color palette, typography system, and logo exploration through both hand sketches and digital iterations, refining the design through careful study of logo anatomy, balance, and symbolism.

The final brand package includes detailed usage guidelines, covering clear space, black and white applications, logo sizing and favicon standards, and spot color variations to ensure consistent representation across media. To complete the system, I designed branded business cards, letterhead, and a final logo mark, bringing the visual identity to life with professionalism and creative integrity.

A BRAND IDENTITY PROJECT SHOWCASING LOGO DIRECTION, TYPOGRAPHY, COLOR PALETTE, VISUAL CONSISTENCY, AND BRAND SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT FOR COHESIVE PROFESSIONAL PRESENTATION.

Broadmoor World Arena Experiential Invitation Design
Project Link: https://www.behance.net/gallery/237726409/Colorado-Springs-World-Arena-Wold-Tour-Invitation Creative Direction & Design: Julie Davis For the Colorado Springs World Arena’s 10th Anniversary VIP Donor Celebration, “Ten Years of Cheers,” I developed an invitation concept that extended beyond traditional print design to become part of the event experience itself. Inspired by the evening’s international “World Tour” theme, the invitation was designed as a luxury passport, positioning each guest as a VIP traveler embarking on a global celebration. The piece combined formal gala aesthetics with playful travel-inspired elements, including gold foil passport styling, editorial invitation typography, and vintage-style international stamp graphics. During the event, guests interacted with their invitations by collecting passport stamps at each international destination, transforming the invitation into a functional part of the experience and a memorable keepsake. The project demonstrates my approach to experiential storytelling through design, where print, branding, and guest interaction work together to create a cohesive event narrative.

I developed the overall concept, visual hierarchy, and layout, incorporating brand elements, compelling graphics, and data visualization to make key information stand out.
