Hi, I’m Javier Casado Sudupe. I began studying music at the age of seven and pursued piano studies in Zaragoza, Porto, and Madrid, later continuing at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid and the Porto Music Conservatory. I also studied accordion in Zaragoza and earned recognition in several competitions, including five First Prizes in the Ciudad de Huesca Regional Accordion Contest and the Pilar Bayona Scholarship in 1988 to broaden my studies. I’ve organized and performed classical repertory concerts in Spain and Portugal, and I earned the First Prize in the Portugal Musical Youth Piano Contest in 1989.
Since 1996 my work has centered on composing, producing, and arranging for film, television, and theatre. I have collaborated with notable figures such as Leo Brouwer, Manuel Villalta, and from 1999 to 2015 with Alberto Iglesias. My filmography as a music producer and co-composer includes collaborations on titles by Pedro Almodóvar, Icíar Bollaín, Fernando Meirelles, and international works like The Kite Runner and Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. I’ve also contributed to Playhouse Disney, served as musical director for Flashdance on tour in Spain, and I’m currently keyboardist for School of Rock. I love crafting musical storytelling across formats.
