I am a transdisciplinary artist and designer based in Zurich since 2012. My practice blends design, sound art and performance to create works that respond to their context, environment and audience.
I work as a freelance designer, composer, inventor, lecturer and sound artist; I connect the audible elements of our surroundings with art, sustainability and life. I have taught as a professor of Sound Art and Composition at the University of Music in Mainz, conducted research at ZHdK, and lectured at HSLU. I am currently researching EARphones and the capacity of spatial experiences in headphones using analogue approaches, exploring the intertwinement of art, environment, science and community through initiatives like Artspace Rondeel Maastricht and Environmental Artistic Research (EAR).

EARphones
You are a (hearing) pioneer!
EARphones are a novel type of instrument that is played
through your body movements, especially the movement of your head. They invite you to attentively listen to small
movements and subtle sounds. Although they can get loud when moved, they are dampened by gravity and surface resistance. Slow movements can create mysterious soundscapes that reveal mechanical machines or granular
synthesis – thanks to the ingenuity of EARphones.
