Directed development and production of the animated short film “Finding the Light,” written by 10-year-old Kei Durham for “Kids Create a Deep Sea Cartoon” Contest, translating story concepts into visual narrative content through all stages of the 2D animation pipeline. Collaborated with mentor Magali McDonald and executive producers Rebecca Chu, Tracy Blom, and Jesse Byrd, communicating project progress, incorporating feedback, and supporting production tracking throughout development. Immersion of 2D animation pipeline including research and ideation, visual development, animatic in Storyboard Pro, 2D frame-by- frame animation in Toon Boom Harmony, background painter and color script artist, motion graphics in Adobe After Effects, and creation of assets for social media. Initiative with written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills while interacting with all levels of the production team, including cross-functional teamwork with sound designers at Metro Middle School in Columbus, OH. Presented in-progress check-ins and creative updates to the production team, demonstrating strong presentation and public speaking skills. Managed multiple project priorities independently while meeting deadlines and maintaining detailed organization of production materials. Audience-focused storytelling experience to encourage the next generation of storytellers.

Animation Intern at Aha Media

Adapt art director’s ideas and follow a concept model as 2D rough and cleanup animator. Interpreted creative direction and production artwork to support character design, visual development, storyboarding, and color script. Collaborated with project managers and members across production to implement revisions based on feedback and evolving production needs. Immersion of animation pipeline knowledge with audience-focused storytelling.

Animation Intern at Ohio Department of Natural Resources

Collaborated with ODNR on animation production of 3 x 2-3 minute shorts called “Tales of Smokey Bear” animated series which focused on animated educational content for children’s media, specifically wildfire prevention and outdoor fire safety education. Served as storyboard revisionist, prop designer, and 2D character animator with lip syncing, developing production assets while maintaining consistency with established visual style guides. Participated in creative ideation and development meetings, contributing concepts and feedback throughout production. Adaptability and positive attitude while addressing overtime work in a sometimes pressurized environment. Ensure deadlines are consistently met and communicate progress of work to supervisors and to appropriate supervisors and team members.
