Kayla Bowman is an independent director, writer, and actor who indulges in stories of horror. Her work consists of making short horror films for her YouTube channel, Unhinged Films. Overall, Kayla has made over 20 short films and her work consist of screenwriting, producing, directing and editing. Kayla grew up in Bethlehem and Allentown, PA. She attended Liberty High School where she also enrolled at a vocational-technical school and started embracing herself in the life of film. In 2020, she graduated with a high school diploma, along with a Film & Media certificate. Furthermore, she pursued her film education at a 4-year-college at Temple University. Kayla was apart of a study-away program in Los Angeles, where she spent half of her senior semester learning about the film industry. She found work as an intern at CALICO production working in the administrative department as a P.A. She was a part of the PBS (2024) Documentary series “The Express Way” and “Roots of Comedy.” Kayla graduated Temple in the Spring of 2024 with a Bachelor degree in Film and Media Arts.
