Hi, I’m Maria—nice to meet you. I am a singer, songwriter, music producer, sound designer, and film composer based in Berlin, Germany. My background is in cultural studies (anthropology), which intersects with my research on native singing traditions across cultures, as well as my classical choir singing and piano training. After exploring multiple vocal genres—including rock, reggae, world music, and jazz—I transitioned into electronic music production and collaboration. This led to my electronic pop project KEBU, for which I have been writing and producing music for over six years. I am currently completing my second higher education degree in Audio Production and Sound Engineering. During my studies, I began working professionally in music composition and sound design for film and animation. My recent projects include the short film Roots by Liliya Syvytska, the animated film 12 H Shift by Maryna Dovhanych, and the documentary The Longer You Bleed by Ewan Waddell. Combining strong research skills with musical versatility, I create tailored sound worlds that balance a client’s vision with my own creative approach. I value clear communication and strive to foster a respectful, supportive, and safe working environment. To date, I have consistently met the artistic expectations of the visual artists, filmmakers, and music producers I’ve collaborated with. I am excited to continue creating meaningful, immersive soundscapes—and I would love to explore how I could contribute to your next project!

    Trailer:

The Longer You Bleed follows a group of displaced Ukrainians in Berlin as they navigate the psychological toll of witnessing war through their smartphones. In an era where global conflict is increasingly mediated through screens, The Longer You Bleed explores the emotional detachment and compassion fatigue that result from constant exposure to traumatic imagery. Blending observational intimacy with experimental visual language, it reveals how war, when rendered into content, numbs both victims and viewers. The impact campaign uses screenings, educational partnerships, and media engagement to spark critical dialogue about emotional resilience, digital ethics, and media literacy. Its goal is to empower everyone to engage with online suffering more intentionally and humanely.

paper ROOTS {КОРІННЯ} - experimental short film by Liliya Syvytska

Experimental Project explores emotional stages of displacement caused by war.

Shortlisted for YDA at Cannes 2024.

Screened at prestigious Ukrainian festivals such as Brave Factory and Bouquet Art Festival.

“Visual poetry, full of shadows and light, found it’s seed and started to grow inside of my soul, the further and longer I was away from home, Ukraine. Making “Коріння” was a necessity, a way to transcend feelings of grief and pain out of the body, transform them into the pure energy and love through the art of dance and music. Such emotional and strong experiences could be meticulously explored only with the most trusting, dedicating and heart open international team.

The film is dedicated to the people around the world, whose land was taken away, stolen by the evil flames in times of war and conflicts. This work is a visual prayer, that holds strong belief in continuing the fight for truth and goodness on a long and challenging road back home- place, where roots feel it’s warm soil, grow deep to the core and can become the strongest tree.” Director Liliya Syvytska
