Dear potential client Hi, I'm Ken, and I promise you this document comes from a real human. I am a people-focused engineer and feel a keen obligation to help in the community. I extend that desire to help in all of my interactions to coworkers, customers and clients as I truly feel that those you work with are an extension of your family. I have had the pleasure of leading systems engineering efforts for both large scale and small concepts from the drawing board to production deployments in both AWS and GCP; with a primary infrastructure deployment strategy revolving around Terraform. Through these efforts I have been involved or responsible at every step of the way, from local build environments for developers new to the world of containerization, liaison with core networking teams, security and organizational policy leaders, to implementation of techniques like Binary Authorization to ensure positive control over production code, CI/CD security scan implementation via a centralized template system and SRE instrumentation to identify, track and agree to service behaviors. In each of these roles and teams, I have demonstrated an understanding of system and process problems, and guided these projects towards a well-architected footing. Experience working in teams from 2 to 40 on a daily basis has also provided me with a keen awareness of the third part of that table; people. Leading efforts require people and time, and maintaining those people is a core part of ensuring the success of the project. While it is rewarding to watch a proof of concept piece of software begin living and breathing in a hardened cloud environment for the greater good of the business, I find that cultivating the people involved for their betterment along the way completes the journey. Now, I put my knowledge, understanding, and person on your screen, in hopes of joining your organization to make a positive impact on people. Sincerely, I thank you for the consideration, one human to another; Ken Decoteau

    paper AWS Well-Architected Framework Review
You will get a timely and engaged analysis of your project from a professional with over 13 years of architecting, building and maintaining production systems in Amazon Web Services, GCP, and On-Premise. That experience is backed by 23 years of time-in-seat administering systems from desktops to server rooms to the cloud, and even the bottom of the ocean. What I will offer you is access to that deep knowledge lake of troubleshooting and design experience. I will do my best to find what's good and bad about your project and deliver those findings in a clear and actionable manner. I am a huge fan of AWS's "Well-Architected-Framework". Their community-driven approach to a complete cloud or on-premise system of analysis ticks all my engineering boxes. In those 23 years of problem-solving in IT, the AWS Framework would have often found and quick-stepped solutions to issues that brought down systems, caused loss and burned out projects. I'm offering myself to help apply that framework through the lens of my understanding. I truly aim to help enable projects to succeed. AWS
