Conductor & Film Music Composer
Founder & Music Director of Istanbul Film Music Orchestra (IFMO)
Born in Istanbul and now based in Berlin, Kerem Esemen is a conductor and film music composer bridging classical performance with cinematic storytelling. In 2007 he founded the Istanbul Film Music Orchestra, leading acclaimed projects such as Charlie Chaplin’s City Lights live-to-picture and Disney+ Turkey’s launch gala, where he co-orchestrated The Disney+ Suite with Grammy-nominated composer Esin Aydıngöz and conducted live to picture.
Esemen’s film scores have received international recognition: To The Sea won Best Film Music at the Largo Film Festival, his Berlin collaborations Bedtime Stories for the Brave and The Wall premiered at Berlinale, and Ignore Your True Feelings (2024) earned multiple awards before being selected for Slamdance Los Angeles 2025. He has also conducted landmark performances, including Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody with Mersin State Opera Orchestra.
Blending symphonic depth with cinematic vision, Esemen continues to compose and conduct music that brings stories vividly to life.
