Kai-Hsiang (Kevin) Yang is a Taiwanese composer, songwriter, orchestrator, sound designer, and mixer based in New York, whose work spans film, animation, and multimedia. His first collaboration was with director Patricia Colmenero on the documentary You Are Invited to Leave, which won the 2025 CUNY Film Festival Best Documentary. He then partnered with 3D modeler and texture artist Thomas McArdle on the animation Bloom, recipient of the 2024 National Board of Review Student Grant Award. Following this, Kai-Hsiang scored Outside, a short film directed by Sabrina Torres. He also began an ongoing collaboration with animator Gwenaëlle Du-Thumm on her animated film Immémorial. The film has been officially selected for the CTN Expo 2025 Film Showcase (USA), the 2025 WIA NYC Animation Festival (USA), and the 2025 Secondigliano Film Festival (Italy), and it won the 2025 Pratt 3D Animation “Best in Show” award. Currently, he works as the composer, sound designer, and mixer for director Jiyeon Kim’s third film, Against Interpretation. He also serves as the composer and music supervisor for Round Table, a short film directed by Ashley Ding.
