Animation starts with great communication and a strong, clear vision. With many years of experience, I’ve seen the animation industry evolve from physical cels to digital precision. My career is built on a foundation of classic storytelling and the technical adaptability required to stay at the forefront of 2D motion. I specialize in character-driven animation and seamless motion graphics, blending a traditional "animator’s eye" for timing and weight with modern efficiency in After Effects and Illustrator. Whether I’m troubleshooting complex particle systems or refining the stroke of a custom font, I focus on the small details that make a story resonate. When I’m not in the timeline, I’m usually drawing inspiration from tactile crafts like printmaking and fiber arts—hobbies that keep my digital work grounded in a hand-crafted aesthetic. I’m a firm believer that no matter how much the tools change, a great piece of animation always starts with great communication and a strong, clear vision.

    paper Plex Conference Opener

    =

Plex (now part of Rockwell Automation) is a dynamic, robust ERP system for manufacturers and offers advanced technology for all areas of any type of manufacturing business.

FRAMELAB was selected to create the opener for their customer-wide conference, with the caveat that business owners interested in Plex would be in attendance. We were to create something that excited the regular customers but was still within reach of those curious about the system.

We chose a ‘tongue in cheek’ approach by illustrating the technology as if it existed in the 1950’s. We researched the artistic styles, color palettes, and voice-over styles of the time, and put together a comedic animation that poked fun at Plex’s technology. We borrowed the styles of several major animation studios of the time, particularly UPA, and recreated ‘authentic’ characters.

The audience’s appreciation of the video earned us an invitation to return and create the opener for the next year’s conference.
