Hello, I'm Kushal Pokhrel. I started in 2016 as an English subtitler for Nepali films, that's where I learned how story survives translation and how simple things that were lost in translation makes the scene completely different. I started learning about movies in details as I worked more and more as subtitle writer. That eye for structure and clarity is what pulled me into screenwriting in 2021. Since then, I've built my craft from the inside out and training in acting (2023) to understand character from the performer's side, working as Assistant Director on ad films and music videos (2024) to see story executed on set, and stepping up as Chief AD for films (2025) to understand how a script survives production, budget, and time pressure. I don't write scripts in a vacuum. I write knowing how they'll be read, performed, shot, and cut because I've stood in every one of those rooms. Currently writing. Always available for collaboration on scripts that need someone who understands the whole pipeline, not just the page.
