I am Lisa Tuvalo, a film director and producer with a passion for storytelling and social issues. I studied filmmaking at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, where I produced, directed, and edited 11 short films. My thesis film “Behind Locked Doors: The Triangle Fire” won best film in my class and received funding from New York Women in Film and TV. I’ve also worked on documentaries, comedies, and webisodes, reflecting my versatile experience in filmmaking and video production.
Currently, I produce and host the kid’s science TV show “Blast from the Past!” for Fairfax Public Access, and I am co-writing two screenplays, a police drama and a coming-of-age story set in 1960s Texas. Alongside producing and writing, I work as a communications specialist, videographer, and private piano teacher, embracing a multidisciplinary approach to my creative and professional endeavors.
