Laura-Anne was always drawing and painting while growing up. Her first art “gig” was painting windows during the Holidays when she was 16. Dad bought her first airbrush at 17. A single action Paasche H. She attended VIU in Nanaimo for 2 years and received an Associate’s degree in Applied Arts (Graphics option). After her first year at college she received a 1st place award, by unanimous decision, in a BC, province wide, inter-collegiate poster contest. Up against post-graduate schools and world educational leaders like Emily Carr College of Art & Design, “Enviro Visions” for Enviro Expo ‘92, Laura-Anne's pen & ink illustration, "The Gift" took first place. Sponsored by BC Hydro, one thousand limited edition prints were printed and given to each of the 1000 corporate delegates and CEO’s from major global companies that attended the Expo. Laura-Anne was also awarded the Faculty Award for Graphics upon graduation from VIU the following year. Her first job out of college was designing display ads for "Yellow Pages", where she worked for three years. After that she moved on and worked at many different jobs within the graphics industry; including as a Production Artist at Sicon Signs (formerly The Sicon Group) in Richmond, BC, and as an Airbrush Artist at Hawg Wild Airbrush before striking out as a freelance illustrator and designer. Her main focus as of late, is mural painting and digital illustration. She has done work for companies such as Triumph, The Naam, Save-On-Foods, Tim Horton's, Tsubaki of Canada, The Edmonton Oilers and Vodafone. She loves to ride her 2022 Harley Davidson Street Bob, and wants to do more travelling.
