The story follows Sabi in her final year of high school, transitioning from a year of rehabilitation after losing her hearing. She returns to the same school, and same social stigma.
Slowly outcasted by the clique she associated with for years, she seeks comfort in Hazel, a guarded wheel chair user who wants nothing to do with her. Her attempts to hold onto Hazel only push her further into her protective shell.
The isolation leads Sabi to Rue, whose reputation was destroyed by the clique.
As the year unfolds, the girls grow closer, not because it’s easy, but because they finally see each other clearly.
