Lisa MacKenzie

I’m a composer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist creating impactful music for film, TV, and visual media. I have a background in songwriting and performance and have taken courses in writing music for TV and film. Since 2020, I’ve been collaborating with writers, internationally, on songwriting projects while also developing my own instrumental composition work.

I specialize in writing music that supports narrative. While my background is in songwriting, I naturally gravitate towards composition and instrumental work. I have a strong feel for the emotional tone and arc of a scene and how to translate that into music that can carry a scene without overpowering it. Whether it’s sparse acoustic textures or a fuller, layered production, I focus on creating music that feels honest, human, and connected.

I’m comfortable working to a brief, taking direction, and adapting quickly. I work from a home studio and deliver clean, well-balanced tracks that are ready for further production if needed.
