I am Lissette Yamase, a self-taught artist from the islands of Chuuk and Pohnpei in the Federated States of Micronesia. Since 2016 I have been freelancing as an artist, creating customized portraits and original artwork tailored to client needs while drawing inspiration from Micronesian cultures and stories and staying adaptable to a wider range of themes. I also offer artistic consultation for workshops, branding projects, and creative direction across diverse visual initiatives. Much of my work centers on sharing Micronesia’s heritage and community voices through installation art, illustration, and design. I collaborate closely with fellow artists and teams to ensure cohesive storytelling, thoughtful placement, and respectful representation, and I continue to travel to communities near and far to lift up local narratives through art.
