Some people build careers in straight lines. Mine has taken a more interesting route.
Professionally, much of my work has centred on helping people move forward. I have spent several years working in employability and programme delivery, supporting individuals facing complex barriers to work and helping organisations deliver practical outcomes. That experience taught me the value of clear communication, strong organisation, and the ability to listen carefully before trying to solve a problem.
Alongside that professional work, I have always been drawn to building creative things.
I run Ironclad Forge, a small creative venture focused on tabletop miniatures and hobby writing. Through it I design miniatures, write articles for a growing community of hobbyists, and experiment with ways to connect storytelling with physical game worlds.
Two projects sit at the heart of that creative work.
The first is Halgrad, a tabletop skirmish game I designed that explores narrative-driven gameplay and worldbuilding through miniatures and terrain.
The second is The Sundering Cycle, a dark fantasy writing project exploring themes of destiny, rebellion and the consequences of power.
These projects may seem worlds away from employability programmes or partnership work, but they share the same foundations: building communities, communicating ideas clearly, and bringing people together around something meaningful.
At the centre of everything I do (whether in professional roles or creative work) is the same principle: good ideas matter, but they only succeed when they are communicated well and supported by strong relationships.
That belief continues to guide both my career and the projects I choose to build.
