About
Hello! I’m Marcus Boekhoven, a drummer and music educator based in Ottawa, Ontario. I earned an Ontario College Diploma in Music Industry Arts from Algonquin College (2022–2023) and currently teach drums at School Of Rock in Orleans, guiding students aged 6 and up through both one-on-one lessons and group band setups. I bring hands-on experience from live sound, gear setup, and warehouse operations to create a fun, safe, and motivating environment for developing musicians.
Over the years I’ve balanced teaching with roles in customer service and equipment logistics, including detailing rental vehicles at Enterprise, setting up gear for Wall and Sound, and supporting digital marketing projects at Accenture. I’m passionate about helping students grow as musicians and team players while keeping a strong focus on organization and reliability in all my work.
I have spent about half a decade working in DAWS such as Reason, Pro Tools, and Logic. I have composed my own work in them, and used the programs to also mix other people’s studio sessions. I would love to bring this experience, and my range of music taste and knowledge- to assist you in making the best product available.

Set up and select electronic equipment (speakers, microphones, cables, and stage decking); fulfill warehouse orders from receiving to loading shipments; organize and condition-check returned equipment; work as part of a team in fast-paced environments for open-air shows, venues, and theatre performances; process orders using a computerized inventory system.
