Hi, I’m María Suárez, a composer, guitarist, educator and researcher born in La Plata, Buenos Aires. I am a member of the Argentine Association of Composers (AAC) and I teach Harmony, Counterpoint, and Musical Morphology at UNLP, while also performing as a guitarist at the School of Fine Arts. I am currently pursuing a PhD at IUESAL, University of Alicante (Spain), with a dissertation titled Transformative Musical Creation: Musical Research as a Signifying Resource. My aesthetic blends contemporary academic music (neo-romantic and contemporary) with nuances and evocations of the musical traditions of my territory. My catalogue includes symphonic, choral, operatic, chamber, and solo works, performed by major ensembles in Argentina and abroad.
