I’m Mark S. Fabio, a versatile musician, educator, and composer with over three decades of experience in school programs, drum corps, and freelance performance. I currently serve as a Concierge/Personal Assistant at Montecito of Santa Fe Senior Community while continuing as a freelance musician, composer, arranger, and producer. My work spans from leading middle and high school bands to creating original compositions and arranging for ensembles around the country.
In addition to performance, I’ve built programs and electives that engage students with technology and creativity, including music technology, composition, jazz, wind ensembles, and marching bands. This is my treatment of the Miriam Makeba classic! I played trumpet, trombone, flute, guitar, bass, percussion as well as lead and background vocals.
Punjab Blues is a blend of Indian Classical and American Free Form Jazz. I produced this track and played trumpet, flute, oboe and bass.
This is my composition entitled Passacaglia written for concert band! I wrote it in the baroque passacaglia form but with lots of modern percussion. I wrote it several years ago for my middle school band and I have updated and now feel it is more appropriate for high school level! The photos are from my trip to Big Bend National Park in Southwest Texas. I hope you enjoy it!
