My name is Mason Devereux and I’m a third-year student at DigiPen Institute of Technology, majoring in Digital Art and Animation with a focus on 3D environment and prop design. The core of my work is immersion and imagination; I want to create worlds filled with storytelling and details that draw viewers in. I’m passionate about bringing artistic visions to life through worldbuilding, and I hope to continue learning and growing my skillset as I work alongside other creative artists and directors. During my time at DigiPen, I’ve worked on two Unreal Engine game projects and three Unreal Engine film projects. Being a part of these teams has not only helped me gain experience in the technical side of being a 3D artist working in-engine, but it’s also heightened my skills as a communicator and as a member of a team with a shared vision. Most recently, I worked as the Lead Environment Artist for the short film 'Long Way Up', where I developed two environments from concept to final production, helped establish deadlines, and guided stylistic direction for props and sets. The film was officially selected for the 2025 Palm Springs Animation Festival. Currently, I’m working on a new 3D film titled 'My Little Director', where I serve as Co-Producer and Environment Artist on a team of eight artists bringing our vision to life in Unreal Engine. I’m proficient in Autodesk Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and Adobe Photoshop, and I’m highly experienced in using Unreal Engine for both game and film production pipelines. Beyond my core studies, I’ve explored electives in traditional art, digital sculpting, art history, film history, visual development, and architecture. These fields help inform my visual storytelling and strengthen my design sensibilities. I’m currently seeking opportunities as a 3D Environment or Prop Artist where I can contribute to collaborative artistic projects and continue growing as a visual storyteller.
