I was raised by a family of sharp DC journalists where the dinner table was a debate stage, argument was sport, and having a point of view was the cost of entry to every conversation. While my relatives took the purely journalistic route, I gravitated to writing and directing film/TV both before, and during, my Division I baseball career at George Washington University. When I wasn’t pitching on the mound I was pitching in the writers room on a student run sitcom Gender Neutral, winning a Capital Regional Emmy. After GW, I earned my screenwriting MFA at the University of Texas at Austin on a fellowship at the Michener Center for Writers, selling my first script before working in development at QC Entertainment, Oscar winners for Get Out) and BlacKkKlansman. I also worked at Kerner Entertainment, developing the script for Clifford the Big Red Dog. Later, I wrote for the Netflix series The Chosen One. I continue to work with the show’s producers, develop personal projects with my managers, and have taught writing at American University’s School of Communication for over four years.
