My name is McKenzie Young-Roy (she/hers) and I am a designer/illustrator living and working in the Pacific Northwest. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in 2019 from George Fox University and have worked in a variety of roles including Marketing Graphic Designer (Soma Games, 2018), UI Designer/Illustrator (Catalyst College - George Fox University 2019), and most recently In-House Illustrator and Designer (Marketing - George Fox University 2021). Currently, I am using my experience to pursue a freelance career in illustration and design. My projects have included children’s book illustration, corporate branding, marketing materials, and video game content. I’ve had the pleasure of working with various clients and employers including Owlcrate Jr, Twogether Studios (The Adventure Zone: Bureau of Balance Expansion), Marnin Saylor, EBSCO and more. Currently I work as an Assistant Production Designer with Willamette Week as well as designing and illustrating for an array of clients. In addition to my work as an artist, I also strive to be a helpful mental health advocate. I grew up with OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) and am interested in the power of illustration to promote mental health awareness. I strive to create a safe place for viewers to grapple with their own journey.
