I am Margareta Jelić, a multidisciplinary artist and researcher based in the United Kingdom with over three decades of experience blending art practice and theory. I explore gaze, perception, and the relationship between observer and actor across painting, media, and polymedia installations, drawing on philosophy, art history, and environmental studies to inform my practice and teaching.
I work at the intersection of theory and practice, directing animation projects, teaching at university level, and conducting workshops and artist residencies. My research in gaze theory informs my creative work, and I bring this perspective to art students to help them develop critical, experimental approaches to art and media.
